On December 9, 2020, SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. expanded the company’s Board of Directors from 8 to 10 members. SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc.’s Board of Directors elected Timothy Hartnett and Kim Schaefer as the newest Members of the Board of Directors.
Scott Ross, Founder and Managing Partner of Hill Path Capital, and SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc.’s Chairman of the Board of Directors reported, “Tim brings significant experience working with companies across industry sectors and brings unique skills, particularly in finance and accounting. Kim has significant experience in the leisure, hospitality, and entertainment sectors and brings unique skills, particularly in operations and marketing.”
Adding these new Members to the Board of Directors offers access to new insight that will be helpful throughout upcoming international expansions, opportunities, and ongoing growth developments.
Exciting New Opportunities at SeaWorld Entertainment
SeaWorld’s parks have been delighting guests for decades, and have been centered within local and destination hubs across the United States. SeaWorld’s upcoming international expansion to Abu Dhabi will help to spread SeaWorld’s vision of entertainment, sustainability, and conservation for a new generation of global park visitors. Expected to open in late 2022, the Abu Dhabi SeaWorld property is under development at this time.
Continuing SeaWorld’s Positive Impact on Sea Life
While SeaWorld’s guests encounter interactive experiences, they also learn about the need for protecting animals, and the environment in which they thrive. SeaWorld rescues and rehabilitates marine and terrestrial animals that are orphaned, abandoned, ill, or injured, with a goal of returning them to the wild. Ocean health initiatives and rehabilitation efforts have resulted in the SeaWorld team being able to rescue more than 37,000 animals to date.

Becoming a part of SeaWorld’s Board of Directors means Timothy Hartnett and Kim Schaefer are joining their fellow Board Members on a journey to create a lasting legacy that promotes conservation of the natural world. Timothy Hartnett
As CEO of New Roc Management, Timothy Hartnett manages private assets, oversees operational services, and advises prominent families. As a former Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Hartnett managed the company’s private equity practice from 1993 to 2013. Mr. Hartnett holds a B.A. in Accounting from Boston College, and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School.
Kim Schaefer
Kim Schaefer is the President of Two Bit Circus, Inc., a startup concept focusing on social interactions and gaming. Previously, Mrs. Schaefer served as the CEO and Director at Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., where she was the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Brand Officer. Mrs. Schaefer currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hall of the Fame Resort & Entertainment Company, and served on the Board of Education Realty Trust from 2016 to 2018. Mrs. Schaefer holds a B.A. in Accounting from Edgewood College.
