The Senate confirmed Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to become President Trump’s administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, reports the Washington Examiner.

The vote occurred Friday, amidst Democrats many attempts to stall it throughout the process. It broke down with 52 vote in the affirmative and 46 in the negative.

The Examiner reports that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), said “enough is enough” to the Democratic opposition on the floor ahead of the vote. He said confirming Trump’s Cabinet has taken the “longest” amount of time “since George Washington,” which shouldn’t be seen as a record of pride for the minority party.

McConnell said the delaying tactics “won’t change the outcome of the election last November,” but instead are keeping the government from serving the American people.

Democrats had tried to pushed for delay of the vote until Pruitt’s office released nearly 3,000 emails, an action that was ordered by a district court judge Thursday evening says the Examiner.

Pruitt had fallen under scrutiny from Democrats who believed that his ties to the fossil-fuel industry and his ongoing litigation against the EPA, as the attorney general of Oklahoma, should negate him from heading the department, reports the Examiner.
