Satanic Black Mass: Bold Move or Bad Idea? (PODCAST)

The Satanic Temple announced that they cancelled their planned black mass ceremony that was scheduled for Monday, May 12th on Harvard’s campus. Word came in late that they ended up meeting at a Chinese restaurant to carry out the event, but there’s no word on whether or not they actually went through with it.

The publicity stunt did exactly what was intended though, stirring up the religious community and rallying thousands of devoted Catholics to write angry letters, giving the Temple more publicity than they’ve seen since they decided to put a statue of Satan at the Oklahoma Courthouse. The placing of the statue is a response to the Ten Commandments being promoted at the government building, but was it a necessary act of free speech?
