Sarah Palin has endorsed Donald Trump for president.
She gave her speech in Ames, Iowa, rambling and speaking in her characteristic high-pitched voice. She hammered the press, praised Trump supporters, and called out those who would be making fun of her in the press for endorsing Donald Trump. And while she was hammering the GOP candidates currently in the Senate, suggesting that they “stay in the Senate to help out”, she singled out Rand Paul for praise.
“Let me say something really positive about one of those individuals. Rand Paul! I’m going to tell you about that libertarian streak in him that is healthy, cause he knows you only go to war if you’re determined to win the war! And you quit footing the bill for these nations that are oil rich that we’re paying for some of their squirmishes that have been going on for centuries. Where they’re fighting each other and yelling Allah Akbar, calling jihad on each other’s head forever and ever. Like I’ve said before, let them duke it out and let Allah sort it out.”
Then she rambled more on Donald Trump.
While Rand Paul hasn’t said so in these colorful terms, he has called for a declaration of war against ISIS, but is very dovish compared to the rest of the Republican field (and even Hillary Clinton.) It is still to be determined how Rand Paul will react to Sarah Palin’s words about him, if he reacts at all.
