Samuel L. Jackson to Obama: “Stop trying to relate” “Be f*cking presidential!”

Samuel L. Jackson took shots at President Barack Obama in his recent interview with Playboy. He voices his concern that it’s now cool for white guys on TV to use black terminology when speaking to black people. Jackson complains about the mediocrity of society that is becoming more and more acceptable. He hates how the president and other highly educated Americans are dropping the g’s of the ends of words.

“First of all, we know it ain’t because of his blackness, so I say stop trying to ‘relate.’ Be a leader. Be fucking presidential. Look, I grew up in a society where I could say ‘It ain’t’ or ‘What it be’ to my friends. But when I’m out presenting myself to the world as me, who graduated from college, who had family who cared about me, who has a well-read background, I fucking conjugate.”

This isn’t the first time that Jackson has taken a stance that would be controversial in more liberal Hollywood circles. After the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut created a national firestorm over gun control, he said in an interview with the LA Times that, “I don’t think it’s about more gun control. I grew up in the South with guns everywhere and we never shot anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren’t taught the value of life.”  In light of the recent shootings of the Navy Yard it is appropriate to point out that he doesn’t believe that violent video games or movies are the problem either.

Very interesting and refreshing to hear a Hollywood actor take this perspective. Of course there is another Hollywood actor who is coming out supporting full blown libertarianism. Kevin Sorbo is promoting a new libertarian movie, Alongside Night. Sorbo has been more politically active in recent years, writing on his social networks about his belief in free markets and limited government.
