Restaurant Owner Bans Crying Babies After an Angry Mom Told Him To “F**k Off”

A restaurant owner in Queensland, Australia is tired of annoying babies… so he banned them from his restaurant. Well-behaved dogs, however, are still welcome.

Liam Flynn has owned Flynn’s, his French and Italian restaurant for the past 14 years, and recently his restaurant went viral for the first time after he asked a mother to take her incessantly crying toddler outside of the restaurant for the sake of the other customers.

Flynn said the 2-year-old “became a bit temperamental and was screaming” during lunch. After 10 minutes, Flynn came out of the kitchen and said to the parents, “would you mind quietening your child down please,” and suggesting they take the boy outside.

The noise continued, so Flynn says he returned a few minutes later to see the family packing up to leave. They told him they were “offended by the way I asked them to take the child out of the restaurant.”

The chef says he was then engaged in a debate with the father as the bill was settled. The mother returned from the restrooms and proceeded to tell him to “fuck off.”

Then the mother wrote an appropriately pissed off Tripadvisor review on the restaurant, said:

“The owner asked us to keep the noise down quite rudely. Within a few minutes he returned and asked us to take ‘the child’ out of the restaurant! I don’t agree with any children running riot while people are dining at home or out. Our little one wasn’t misbehaving or wreaking havoc. On leaving without completing our meal, we complained about the manner in which we were treated. That caused a heated discussion.”

Flynn responded with a new ban on babies and this Facebook post:

Despite banning little ones, Flynn says pups are still welcome.

“We are dog lovers, we accommodate dogs at our restaurant, because dogs are well-behaved,” Flynn said.

“We like children too, but we like well-behaved children and better still parents who manage their children well and know what to do when they misbehave.”
