Law enforcement officials are reportedly tracking down a package addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden, which is considered suspicious because it is similar to other packages sent to a number of Democrats in the past 24 hours, making him the ninth target in the series of bombs that have been intercepted.
The package, which has reportedly not yet been intercepted by police, is said to be still on the streets, as it did not reach its final destination. Two law enforcement officials told CNN it might have been shipped to the wrong address, as it was originally supposed to go to Biden, but could have been shipped to Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as that was the address listed on the return label.
Police arrived outside Biden’s home in Delaware Wednesday night. The post office located in New Castle County, Delaware, was evacuated around 6 a.m. Thursday morning, according to ABC 6. All the mail trucks from the post office were moved to other locations.
This comes as seven explosive devices have been found at the homes of well-known Democrats, including former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton Wednesday as well as actor Robert De Niro, Thursday morning.
The FBI is on the ground investigating the most recent bomb threat in Delaware.
