Rep. Lankford: “We have more guards standing around the WW2 memorial than we did in Benghazi” (VIDEO)

Mr. President! Tear down this wall!

Representative James Lankford (R-OK) appeared on Fox News to discuss the government shutdown and the ensuing backlash against the Obama administrations tactics of shutting down open-air monuments. The furor over the closing of memorials has risen to a fever pitch in recent days when veterans of World War II stormed the barricades that were erected to keep people from entering public park spaces.

Rep. Lankford chided the president for shutting down monuments to the public, criticizing the fact that there have been more resources spent to guard monuments from tourists than to guard our diplomats overseas. The Oklahoma congressman may have been echoing a similar sentiment tweeted by Kentucky Senator and Republican Rand Paul. Paul had tweeted earlier in the day how the government seemed more interested in guarding our public parks than our distinguished public servants who died in the attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya while the president did nothing.
