Appearing on Meet the Press with Chris Matthews, Raul Labrador (R-ID) embarrassed Matthews by reminding him that his old boss Tip O’Neil (D-MA) shut down the government twelve times. Matthews was a presidential speechwriter during the Carter administration, and was a top aid to then Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill.
Matthews starts dithering immediately and begins to try and change the subject back to blaming Republicans.
