Top 5 Reasons To Vote Libertarian This November

Johnson and Weld, Ohio, Libertarian

By: Jenna Ranger

With this election cycle being widely described as both the most important and most absurd of our generation, who to vote for is becoming increasingly more important in the minds of many young adults. This election has been filled with scandal after scandal, hack after hack, and leak after leak. It’s safe to say that most Americans can say they know everything there is to know about Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in terms of their sexual partners, sexual partners of their spouses, who they have allegedly had killed, who they have sexually assaulted, who they have talked about sexually assaulting, their finances, their health issues, and every possible speculation in between.

However, what do we know about the policies they will supposedly enact once they take office? What do we know about Gary Johnson? There is a reason the only thing a lot of Americans know about him is that he “bombed” on Aleppo. But like The Libertarian Republic Founder Austin Petersen, I prefer his bombing of Aleppo to Hillary’s.

Here are the top 5 reasons you should vote For Gary Johnson in November:

1. The next election

I have never had so many people tell me they aren’t voting in an election cycle. The two major complaints I hear are: people are unhappy with the two major party choices, believing a third-party wouldn’t stand a chance; or because of the electoral college, they believe their vote doesn’t matter. BUT there is a way to do something about it and that is to vote for Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson. Even if you believe it’s too late to change anything this election cycle, you can still make sure we have more options in the next election.

The Federal Election Campaign Act outlines which parties are eligible for matching funds, while the two major parties are eligible for matching funds as outlined, minor parties are also eligible if they reach 5% of the popular vote. That means 5% of the American electorate (you) voting for Gary Johnson this fall. If a third-party candidate reaches that 5% threshold, they will be eligible for matching funds in the next election cycle, which would be a huge help in reaching that 15% needed to gain entry to the presidential debates. Listen to Liberty Laura above for more on the Federal Election Campaign Act and how we can upset the two-party system.
