Why Rand Paul Will Crush Democrat Jim Gray this Fall

Junior Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky will crush Jim Gray, his Democratic challenger and current Lexington mayor in the general election this Fall. This is my assessment after observing the current political climate in Kentucky that overwhelming voted for Donald Trump in the Presidential primary earlier this Spring and current Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin’s stunning victory in last Fall’s gubernatorial election.

It has been exactly five months and ten days since Republican Bevin took over the Kentucky’s governor ‘s mansion and over two months ago since Donald Trump, in Kentucky’s binding caucuses, won 36% of the Republican vote and 17 delegates. In total, 82,494 Kentuckians cast votes for Donald Trump.

Last night, Kentuckians continued this  conservative trend as a staggering 85% of Republican voters voted for Senator Rand Paul.

I predict that Rand Paul will receive 60% of the vote against the inexperienced Gray who is fighting an uphill battle against a popular incumbent Senator such as Paul.

Barring a national trend towards the Democratic Party on account of dissatisfaction with Donald Trump, Rand Paul should soundly defeat Jim Gray.

Since bowing out of the Republican Presidential race after fishing fifth in the Iowa Caucuses, Rand Paul has returned home to campaign in Kentucky almost every week and is connecting with Kentuckians through a multitude of town hall meetings and pancake breakfasts.

Rand Paul knows the importance of staying current with the residents of Kentucky whom he represents in the U.S. Senate. His connectivity with rank and file Kentucky voters on such local issue as the coal industry makes Rand Paul the overwhelming favorite to keep his Senate seat and crush the novice local politician Jim Gray in the general election come this November.
