Rand Paul Was Right About Hillary Clinton & Benghazi Gun-running

By R. Brownell

Documents linking the US to secret arms trafficking to Syria, through Libya, were exposed Monday by Fox News:

A Defense Intelligence Agency memo from Sept. 16, 2012, concluded that the Benghazi terror attack was planned at least 10 days in advance to coincide with 9/11 and was in retaliation for a drone strike that killed an al Qaeda strategist. The memo was copied to the National Security Council, the State Department and the CIA.

“The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for the [U.S.] killing of Aboyahiye (Alaliby) in Pakistan and in memorial of the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center buildings,” the memo said.

Judicial Watch obtained the memos by suing in federal court.

“The Obama administration says it was a coincidence that [the Benghazi attack] occurred on 9/11. In fact, their intelligence said it wasn’t a coincidence, and in fact, specifically the attack occurred because it was 9/11,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.

Another 2012 DIA memo predicts the rise of ISIS and the establishment of a caliphate 17 months before President Barack Obama called ISIS “jay-vee.”

A third DIA memo, dated Oct. 5, 2012, leaves no doubt that U.S. intelligence agencies knew that weapons were moving from Libya to Syria before the attack that killed four Americans.

As of now, the conservative organization Judicial Watch was able to obtain documents which finally confirm that the points made by the Obama administration and the Hillary Clinton run State Department, in regards to early US involvement in Libya, were in fact false.

The first claim was that the US government was in Libya only to conduct diplomatic efforts , as a result of the Arab Spring which ousted the Qaddafi government at the time. While it was true that Ambassador Chris Stevens was in fact working to help stabilize US/Libyan relations in order to install a secular-democratic government, it is now exposed that the US government was in fact using it’s new diplomatic foothold in north Africa as a way to expedite the secret shipping of arms and munitions to anti-Assad rebels in Syria, a claim which Senator Rand Paul tried to shed light on back in 2012, but was dismissed by then CIA Director Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Clinton.

According to the first document released to Judicial Watch, the US government had full knowledge of the trafficking activities:

Weapons from the former Libya military stockpiles were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the Port of Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The weapons shipped during late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s, and 125 mm and 155mm howitzers missiles.

During the immediate aftermath of, and following the uncertainty caused by, the downfall of the ((Qaddafi)) regime in October 2011 and up until early September of 2012, weapons from the former Libya military stockpiles located in Benghazi, Libya were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the ports of Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The Syrian ports were chosen due to the small amount of cargo traffic transiting these two ports. The ships used to transport the weapons were medium-sized and able to hold 10 or less shipping containers of cargo.

Secondly, the claim that a YouTube video offensive to Muslims sparked the spontaneous assault on the US Consulate in Benghazi, is also false.  Additional memos obtained by Judicial Watch have now shown that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) obtained information that the Libyan jihadist terror cell which attacked the consulate planned the operation ten days in advance of the 9/11 attack in Benghazi:

“The attack was planned ten or more days prior on approximately 01 September 2012. The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for U.S. killing of Aboyahiye ((ALALIBY)) in Pakistan and in memorial of the 11 September 2001 atacks on the World Trade Center buildings…

A violent radical,” the DIA report says, is “the leader of BCOAR is Abdul Baset ((AZUZ)), AZUZ was sent by ((ZAWARI)) to set up Al Qaeda (AQ) bases in Libya.”  The group’s headquarters was set up with the approval of a “member of the Muslim brother hood movement…where they have large caches of weapons.  Some of these caches are disguised by feeding troughs for livestock.  They have SA-7 and SA-23/4 MANPADS…they train almost every day focusing on religious lessons and scriptures including three lessons a day of jihadist ideology.” -Judicial Watch, 5-18-15

The White House has yet to release an official statement to the media regarding the recent DIA memos.  This newfound discovery also spells troubled waters for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, whose involvement in the Benghazi scandal may further damage her 2016 campaign.
