President Headed To Texas to Push Obamacare (VIDEO)

DALLAS, TX – President Barack Obama is traveling to Dallas today to push the Affordable Care Act and drum up better PR for his signature law in light of the botched rollout. The president is going there due to the area having the highest population of uninsured people. Obama will meet with canvassers from Dallas Area Interfaith, a group that the White House says is the most active organization in Texas promoting Obamacare. [contextly_sidebar id=”ff5d2ebe2eb0acb47287b4707655b8b0″]

David M. Simas, a White House adviser, said that Mr. Obama will be “calling on folks in Texas to join conservative governors in other states like Ohio and in Michigan, in Arizona, to put politics aside and not deny people health care out of ideology or politics.”

Texas is one of the states that turned down setting up their own online exchange and is relying on the buggy Healthcare.gov website for enrollments. The Republican led legislature is currently blocking the expansion of Medicaid in Texas.

Meanwhile, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is testifying today in front of the U.S. Senate to answer questions about why millions of people are losing their health care plans. The secretary claimed responsibility for fixing the broken health care website while senators took turns chastising her over the botched rollout, with some directly calling for her resignation.
