Poll: 70 Percent Of Women Don’t Like Trump

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s favorability rating among women has steadily dropped since July, 2015, according to Gallup’s daily tracking poll released Friday.

Seventy percent of women say they have a negative view of the billionaire real-estate mogul – up from 58 percent in the summer of 2015.

Fifty-eight percent of men also view Trump unfavorably.

His ratings were marginally better among Republicans with 49 percent of females and 61 percent of males viewing him favorably while 46 percent of women and 36 percent of men say they weren’t fond of the candidate.

Republican candidate Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton also received a net negative score.

Republican candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich had the highest score among both genders with a +18 score with women and +20 score with men followed by Democratic Sen. Bernie Sanders who took in a score of +15 with women and +6 with men.

Trump faces a slew of controversies involving women, most recently coming under fire by Democrats for saying “there has to be some form of punishment” for women who have abortions.

“Trump’s ‘woman problem’ has come into sharper focus this week with his latest high-visibility comments about women and abortion. It is too early to measure what effect those comments may be having on his image,” Gallup said. “But even before these remarks, fewer than one in four women viewed him favorably, suggesting he may already be down to a core of rock-hard supporters whose opinions aren’t likely to change.”

Results of the survey are based on phone interviews conducted on a monthly basis from July 8, 2015, to March 28, 2016, with each candidate rated by a random sample of between 3,648 and 7,302 adults across the country.
