Police Officers Targeted Across The Country

By Casey Harper

From coast to coast, police officers are suddenly under attack.

Two Los Angeles police officers barely dodged bullets Sunday night when two gunmen fired at their car. The officers returned fire, but no one was hurt. One man was arrested and another is still on the loose, local news reported.

The attack has LAPD officers ready for anything and on a massive manhunt to find the second assailant.

In Florida, at least one gunman reportedly fired on officers Sunday morning. Neither officer was hit, and officers did not see the suspect.

LAPD detectives have not linked the Sunday night attack to the unrest over the police killing of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, but others say the connection is clear.

On the east coast, families still mourn the shooting death of NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos earlier this month. A shooter, clearly motivated by recent police killings, ambushed and killed the officers.

NYPD officers have publicly demonstrated against Mayor Bill De Blasio because of the attacks, again stirring the controversy over police violence that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
