Politico has a new interview out with Congressman Peter King (R-NY) in his battle against Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) fight to limit government.
“I don’t consider these guys conservatives. I consider them isolationists,” King says. The New York congressman has stated that he might consider running for president so that the limited government wing of the GOP doesn’t get too much traction. King expresses his concern over not being able to attack Syria, and how the Republicans got distracted from starting another war by overly focusing on defunding Obamacare.
You don’t hold a gun to the head of government,” King says. But that’s contrary to what the Sage of Baltimore, Henry Louis Mencken once said about how to deal with bureaucrats: “The only good bureaucrat is one with a pistol at his head. Put it in his hand and it’s good-bye to the Bill of Rights.” The 16:00 minute interview is below.
