WATCH: John Oliver Ends Up Eating His 2013 Words on Trump
On his nightly show Last Week Tonight, John Oliver warned of the horror of Donald Trump as President. However, three years ago, as host of The Daily Show, he sounded a very different tune, begging Trump to run in 2016. Oliver jokingly remarked at the prospect of a Trump run, “Do it. . .I will personally write you a campaign check now on behalf of this country which does not want you to be President, but which badly wants you to run.”
During his new show last night, he sounded a much more apocalyptic tone, suggesting that Trump’s victory was a win for the Ku Klux Klan (whose former leader, David Duke, endorsed the Republican nominee) and that Trump has no direction for his Presidential administration.
