News Anchor Mistakenly Reports Hillary Clinton’s Death [VIDEO]

A news anchor shocked his audience Sunday when he opened up the nightly news by saying, “Good evening, we begin with Hillary Clinton’s death.”

WABC-TV weekend news anchor Joe Torres made the mistake during a weekend broadcast on ABC television’s flagship station in New York City. The anchor did not correct himself as he discussed the Democratic nominee’s recent health troubles.

The station told TVSpy that the mistake was an accident. “During a live introduction to a story about the health of Hillary Clinton, Joe Torres inadvertently said ‘death’ when he meant to say ‘health,’” a station spokesperson told TVSpy. “It was clear from the context of the story, the reporters’ information and graphics on the screen that Secretary Clinton was alive and recovering.”

The faux pas did nothing to quell speculation surrounding Clinton’s health.

Concerns were raised after video emerged Sunday which appeared to show Clinton collapse as she was carried into a waiting van. Clinton was in lower Manhattan for a memorial service marking the fifteenth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Clinton’s campaign came under fire after giving multiple difference explanations for what had happened, and failing to alert voters that she was diagnosed with pneumonia Friday. The campaign did not acknowledge the diagnosis until after video emerged of the candidate collapsing into the arms of Secret Service agents.
