Do White Liberal Nerds Literally Worship Neil deGrasse Tyson? (VIDEO)

In a recent appearance on Fox News, Vice co-founder and controversial commentator Gavin McInnes set his sights on astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, iconic demigod of the internet.

“I hate this guy,” said McInnes. “I remember hearing Chris Hardwick on a podcast talk about Neil deGrasse Tyson and he was just salivating. White liberal nerds love this guy so much, he could defecate on them like Martin Bashir’s fantasies and they would dance in the streets.”

Tyson had been speculating that extraterrestrials had visited Earth in the past, but deemed humanity too stupid to bother contacting.

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton then chimed in and decried the way that self-styled liberal intellectuals like Tyson look down their noses at the rest of the human race. “It’s no wonder the extraterrestrials don’t contact us – we don’t have any pride in ourselves.”

I remember when he said this in Cosmos. It holds truth in that when we look down at an ant, we don’t often stop and try to communicate to that ant because it would be a waste of time. This metaphor Neil uses show’s how advanced a alien civilization may be comparatively. Why would such an advanced being want to communicate with us if our technology mimics that metaphor?

I don’t agree with everything Neil says, same as i don’t agree with everything Milton Friedman said (negative income tax). But, he brings science and open thinking to the masses of young people. For that we should have open discussions on the topics he brings up instead of marginalizing white nerds that find what he says fascinating (Myself included being quite nerdy as an avionics engineer).

I just laughed so hard. Thank you for pointing this out. I will say that I’d rather people look to him (an actual scientist) instead of worshiping a mechanical engineer who’s just read a few books on biology. (Bill Nye)

“But, he brings science and open thinking to the masses of young people.”

No he doesn’t. Neil deGrasse Tyson brings Progressive Socialist propaganda to the masses. And to not many since he’s largely unknown. Cosmos didn’t really raise his profile either as it was an utter bomb — but it didn’t help that Family Guy, which was the lead, is on its way out with the horrible ratings it has.

It’s funny that you say that we should “have discussions” when Tyson, being the anti-intellectual that he is, discourages discussions. He’s also pretty pathetic and petty. This “white nerd” comment was made on a 3:00am talk show by a comedian. Tyson *actually* took the time to respond by referring to McInnes as a white supremacists. So now hating Tyson makes you a white supremacist according to him. Yeah, I want someone like that talking to America’s youth, they can learn so much!

Tyson isn’t an “actual” scientist. He’s an entertainer with a PhD. Both he and Nye are propagandists, so I’d rather people recognize them for the liars that they are.

This whiny, unimaginative quip of Tyson’s got a passing mention and mocking on a 3:00am talk show… I think that’s about the level of relevance it deserved. It’s amusing that Gavin’s comments are getting more press than Tyson’s 🙂
