MSNBC host Joe Scarborough tore into what he called the narrative that police officers want to shoot and kill black people. Morning Joe criticized those who lionized Mike Brown, similarly to how Republicans did with George Zimmerman. Scarborough argues that Brown was a thug, and that it’s a mistake to make him a poster boy for the cause.
Many people have argued that since Mike Brown was unarmed, he should have been subdued in some other way. That goes against the basic understanding of self defense that law enforcement is trained in. Consider the video below, which shows that someone can easily overpower an individual without needing a weapon. It shows a man brutally beating a female officer, leaving her for dead after his brutal violence.
