Michelle Obama Thinks Young People Need Obamacare Because They’re “Knuckleheads”

Oh Really, Fool?

Michelle Obama appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to extol the virtues of Obamacare. While defending the program, she explained the reason that young people should buy insurance pejoratively saying: “A lot of young people think they’re invincible, but the truth is young people are knuckleheads.”

The state of Colorado has been heavily pushing people to sign up for Obamacare. Their “Got Insurance” ads feature young women with Obamacare birth control talking about having sex, and ads featuring young people doing keg stands saying “Keg stands are crazy. Not having health insurance is crazier. Don’t tap into your beer money to cover those medical bills.”

Projections For Enrollees Lowered

Meanwhile in Washington, Vice President Joe Biden has lowered the projection of enrollments the federal government expects in the program. Speaking to a group of people in Minneapolis he stated: “Initially, we talked about by the end of this period having seven million people lined up. We may not get to seven but we’re gonna get to five or six, and that’s a hell of a start with people.”

This is a far cry from the 7 million promised by Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius last fall. If the vice president is correct and only 5 million sign up for private exchanges then the administration will have an extremely difficult time hitting the projected 16 million enrollees they wanted by next month.

Health Care Law Causing Trouble Nationwide

Given the level of public anxiety over Obamacare, legislators in Minnesota held a public forum to discuss the act. Democrats were caught on camera laughing about the failures of Obamacare. Citizens questioned legislators about the effects of the law and were left without any answers as to why they wouldn’t receive the savings that the Affordable Care Act promised.

I thought the Affordable Care Act would save $2500 per family,” one Minnesota resident asked. “What happened?”

After a long pause, one of the legislators responded: “This health discussion has got to be broader, it’s got to point out where there are weaknesses and failures, it’s got to make sure we’re not leaving people behind or distorting the system,” he insisted. “But don’t pretend there was some type of safe harbor before this where everything was just peachy keen.”

Meanwhile the Koch brothers are airing an advertisement in Michigan featuring a leukemia patent adversely affected by the health care law. The ad created by Americans for Prosperity is aimed at a Democratic legislator named Gary Peters who supports Obamacare.

The ad says: “I was doing fairly well fighting the cancer, fighting the leukemia, and then I received the letter: My insurance was canceled because of ObamaCare. Now the out-of-pocket costs are so high it’s unaffordable. If I do not receive my medication, I will die,” says Julie Boonstra. “I feel lied to. It’s heartbreaking for me. Congressman Peters, your decision to vote for ObamaCare jeopardized my health.”
