A man interviewed in Washington D.C. yesterday whose son works as a Marine at the Naval Yard said that his son might have stopped the killer but the troops on base couldn’t access their ammunition. The Media Research Center got the interview.

USA Today is reporting that the gunman cleared a security checkpoint with his contractor ID and was carrying his shotgun unassembled. The killer was a Navy reservist who had sought treatment from the Department of Veterans Affairs for mental illness a month ago and was reportedly a liberal democrat.
