Man Has His Whole Life Destroyed In 24 Hours From False Sex Crime Report

WILLOW SPRING, NC – Tommy Wall, 50, was arrested in June and charged with first degree rape of a child, felony conspiracy and a first degree sex offense against a child. Investigators claimed that they had video of him committing a sex act on a child. The only problem with the charges was that he was completely innocent. That didn’t stop him from losing his job, spending 105 days in jail and having his home auctioned off, all on a misplaced accusation.

Walls had been accused of being involved in a child pornography ring after the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office showed a photo of him visited the home of Bailey Joe and Elizabeth Mills. Mills and Joe had been arrested after producing child pornography in their home which they had advertised as a daycare. Tommy Wall had briefly visited to deliver a load of lumber and then left. He was photographed at the couple’s daycare two years before any of the crimes took place. The prosecutor in the case saw the picture of Wall and assumed he was part of the crimes committed there.

Wall is now suing Harnett County for their botched investigation. “The investigation should have been done a lot better,” Wall’s attorney Fred Webb said. “He has a big, big obstacle to overcome, because once you’ve been targeted and tainted with such a crime as this, it’s going to follow you wherever you go.”

Although Wall’s original house had been auctioned off, he has since secured residency in another home. “I got nothing else to do,” Wall said. “I got a house, and I’m living in it. I’m going to start working on the outside when the weather breaks.”
