Man Tried To Throw His Wife Off A Bridge, But Then Karma Kicked In

SAN MATEO, CA – A Marin County man was charged with one felony count of attempted murder and domestic violence after he tried unsuccessfully to throw his wife off the San Mateo-Hayward bridge. Xavier McClinton and his wife were driving along together when they began a heated argument which escalated into a murder attempt, and ended with a swift kick from the karma fairy.

McClinton reportedly drove the car off the side of the roadway, trying to crash it into the San Francisco Bay. The car hit a barrier and came to a stop. The man then grabbed his wife, pulled her out of the vehicle and tried to throw her off the bridge down into the water.

Motorists who observed the incident came to her aid, grabbing her legs and prevented her from falling. But during the altercation, Xavier himself slipped and fell into the bay.

The U.S. Coast guard was nearby and arrested him after pulling him from the water. McClinton reportedly has been suffering from bouts of paranoia recently. He reportedly has been saying that people were trying to break into his home and kill him.

McClinton’s wife suffered a minor cut which required stitches but was otherwise fine. Xavier is scheduled go to court this Friday in order to enter his plea.
