Man denied a mammogram because of his gender (VIDEO)

He checked his privilege, it was about the size of a golf ball

FLORIDA – Donald Mudd had been complaining of a painful lump in his chest for weeks, Fox 4 in Fort Myers reported. Now the lump has metastasized into the size of a golf ball. He has no insurance, so he attempted to get one of the free mammograms that are given away as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. But Budd was told that males do not qualify. That’s when the local TV station and Susan G. Komen of Southwest Florida stepped in.

The Komen foundation set up Mudd with an appointment at Virginia B. Andes Volunteer clinic on Wednesday. The clinic reportedly does not discriminate on the basis of gender and Mudd will receive his free screening. It is believed that 2,000 men will likely be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
