Timothy Antonio Diggs is now facing seven misdemeanor counts that include firing into an occupied vehicle, reckless endangerment and cruelty to animals. The horse was traveling along minding its own business when an unknown car passed by going in the opposite direction. The occupants reported hearing a loud cracking noise like a firecracker as the car passed them by.

When the family got home they realized that that their horse had been shot in the chest, but sadly it was too late to save the animal. It died before a veterinarian could reach the farm.

Diggs was jailed after cops executed a search warrant in mid-December of last year. The raid turned up handguns and a stolen motorcycle from two unrelated burglaries.
