Lunatic Conservative Blames Chris Kyle’s Death on Libertarians

Right wing nutbag Pat Dollard is blaming the death of Chris Kyle on libertarians. There’s a whole lotta crazy going on.

Dollard, the man who famously tweeted that it’s “time for Americans to start slaughtering Muslims in the streets,” said on his blog yesterday that Kyle’s murderer Eddie Routh didn’t have PTSD. He claims that he was a typical anti-war libertarian like Bradley Manning, Ron Paul, and Jesse Ventura.

Of course, Ventura isn’t a libertarian at all, and Manning has never publicly identified himself as such either. But let’s not let the facts get in the way of this disturbed individual’s paranoid rantings.

From PatDollard.com:

I’d like to know if Routh or his family had any contact with Jesse Ventura or Ron Paul in the days before he murdered Chris Kyle. Allen West and Walid Shoebat are also tring to sort out if his anti-war beliefs had graduated to jihadi sympathizing or full-on conversion to Islam and jihadi status for himself. Did Routh murder Kyle in some blended anti-war/jihadi desire for revenge? It appear so, or at least the former.

Wait… is Dollard saying that Routh is BOTH anti-war… AND a jihadi? Oh wait, I guess we’re trying to assign logic to a foaming at the mouth conservative lunatic.

Dollard then went on to cite Allen West, who said nothing about libertarians: “What if Routh had been converted to militant Islam in Iraq and sought Kyle out as retribution?” So, militant Islamists are anti-war libertarians? Sorry, Dollard. Bet your bottom dollar you’re wrong on this one.

Conservative fruitcake Dollard then goes on to cite Walid Shoebat, a former member of the PLO, who also asserts that Routh may have been a convert to radical Islam. Shoebat doesn’t accuse him of being a libertarian, simply a terrorist sympathizer.

“During a phone call with his father, Routh expressed sympathy for the detainees and discontent over how the US was conducting the war as well as his reluctance to engage in combat” and “While working as a guard at Balad Air Base, Routh laments his [Muslim] prisoners’ poor living conditions.”

These neoconservatives point to a Facebook post from a group called the Warfighter Organization, who assert that Routh was not suffering from PTSD:

And yet, the Daily Mail also reported that, “It is a known fact that Routh’s family contacted Kyle about their son’s diminishing mental health. Routh was admitted to inpatient psychiatric treatment prior to the events at Rough Creek Ranch, according to a report from the Daily Mail.  Routh had been taken to a mental hospital twice in the past five months and told authorities that he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, police records show.”

For objectivity’s sake, Kyle’s widow claims that she didn’t believe that Routh was suffering from PTSD. Taya, Kyle’s widow said “Personally, I’ve never had it confirmed that this guy had PTSD. That’s the first thing that really bothers me. I know people want to find a reason why one young man would turn his gun on two people that were there to help, and kill them in cold blood. But in my opinion, the reason is not PTSD.”

However, Chris Kyle was widely reported to have been helping Routh because he was said to have been suffering from PTSD. And the Washington Post confirmed it.

None of these news outlets report that Routh had anything to do with libertarian ideology. This is simply an attempt to smear libertarians by a nutcase conservative with a vendetta.  It’s also a distortion and the creation of a falsehood, claiming that Routh was motivated by ideology, and not mental illness. But even if it were ideology, and it isn’t, that ideology would have been radical Islam, which has absolutely zero to do with classical liberalism (i.e. libertarianism).

In fact, Routh’s mental insanity, and penchant for violence would actually put him more in line with the beliefs of conservatives. But we wouldn’t argue that Routh was a conservative. There’s a difference between people who kill others because they are insane, and those who kill others while fully aware of their actions. Neoconservatives and radical Islamists would be the latter. Dollard sees in Routh the mirror of self-reflection, and sounds desperate to deflect the blame to his preferred bogeyman.

It’s not Dollard suffers from, merely brute stupidity, lack of a conscience, and pure evil.
