Lawsuit filed against cop who shattered woman’s face (VIDEO)

“The state calls its own violence law, but that of the individual, crime.” -Max Stirner

SKOKIE VILLAGE, IL – The Libertarian Republic has learned that Cassandra Feuerstein is filing a lawsuit against Officer Michael Hart after video emerged of him shoving her into a cell and shattering her face. TLR previously reported on this incident on October 10th, and new details are emerging in this case.

Feuerstein’s attorney, Torri Hamilton, filed a federal lawsuit this month alleging police brutality. Prosecutors allege that Officer Hart shoved Feuerstein so hard that when she fell, her injuries would require reconstructive surgery to install a titanium plate. Prosecutors also charge that her eye socket was broken and her teeth were loosened. Hart is being charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct.

“It’s pretty clear that he stepped over the line,” Cook County State Attorney Anita Alvarez said. “Obviously (police officers) are there because of the public trust. … It’s a sad day when we have to announce charges against a police officer.”

Hart’s attorney Jed Stone has pointed to the fact that the officer has never been disciplined and has never been the subject of an excessive force complaint. The officer’s lawyer reminded the public that Feuerstein was being incarcerated for a DUI. “Put that against the backdrop of a 19-year career police officer with an unblemished record, and explain to me why he’s being prosecuted,” Stone said. “This is a good officer. The law says police can use reasonable force to get someone to comply with a reasonable direction.”

Reasonable force? What was reasonable about that?

Caniac Steve Henderson October 31, 2013 at 9:00 pm

reasonable my butt I hope she bankrupts the village..and fires the person who hired the guy..

If she is indeed guilty of DUI, then she deserved this. Anyone willing to operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated, deserves this. The face would be the least of someones’ worries if a drunk driver hits them head-on. I’ve seen too many people severely injured or killed by jackasses that choose to drive when they know they are intoxicated. If you are willing to risk the lives of the public just so you can drive home drunk, then don’t cry when something like this happens to you. You got what was coming. Sure, the officer used too much force and should be disciplined, but this woman shouldn’t get a dime out of this suit.

MATTMAN October 31, 2013 at 9:35 pm

@Brad, accused is a long way from convicted…for all we know, she may have given the pig attitude and he had to show her who’s boss. I’ve seen ALOT of pigs throw their wait around because they were given PUBLIC trust to do so…

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:09 pm

Just so you know, I never said she was guilty. I said she deserved this ONLY if she were guilty. Courts let DUI offenders off to easily. You get more punishment for pointing a gun at one person then you get for driving a 3500 pound vehicle down a public road when you are drunk.

Dave Peters October 31, 2013 at 9:36 pm

Brad you are a complete idiot, please do not breed.

Cl4tgp October 31, 2013 at 9:47 pm

It’s probably unlikely as it seems clear he has issues with women. and that is a wonderful thing. our gene pool is polluted enough without dimwits like him adding to it.

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:05 pm

The only thing that is clear is that none of you can read. I never said she deserved to get hurt because she was a woman and I stated CLEARLY that “If she is indeed guilty of DUI, then she deserved this.” I also said (apparently too many of you inbreeds don’t comprehend words) that the officer should be disciplined. So, crawl back into your liberal holes and stay there. None of you had to help your friend move out of a house he just rented for his new wife and step-son because a drunk-driver crossed the median and killed them on impact. So, until you see the real human cost for DUI, don’t pretend that you are better then me or that your opinion counts more then mine.

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:12 pm

I’m only 20% idiot, you are 100% stupid.

Guest November 3, 2013 at 8:11 pm

20% idiot, you can’t forget the 80% dick.

Michał Janki October 31, 2013 at 9:42 pm

If she is guilty then a court shall decide about her fate. Police violence like that has no justification.

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:07 pm

You are right, but the court should sentence her to a good beating instead of the low-impact slaps they give for DUI now. What is it now, the 2nd or 3rd time you get a DUI, in most states, is when the finally take your license? Not that it matters to many of them, they just drive anyway.

JonDeik November 1, 2013 at 2:36 am

I agree with you about what SHOULD be done, but DUI’s in the 1960’s were like, not even a thing. It seems that you are implying it’s been getting more lenient in recent years. Perhaps I misunderstood.

Brad Kirby November 1, 2013 at 3:50 pm

There is a guy I know locally that had to get his 3rd DUI before they finally took his license. After his 2nd they only allowed him to drive to work and he still screwed that up. The only reason he didn’t drive without his license is because he lost his house (after losing his job of course) and had to move in with his parents. He still starts drinking at 10 am but at least now he doesn’t have any keys. He completely downplays the risk to himself and the public when he drove drunk. People like him get lenient punishments instead of being treated like the reckless criminals they really are.

Jeremy Arthur Vandelay November 2, 2013 at 2:14 am

What are you talking about?? Here in LA you pay a $10,000 fine AND you lose your license for 4 years!! If you actually get into an accident you get a felony with a minimum of 1-3 years !

Brad Kirby November 2, 2013 at 5:28 pm

Wrong again:
DUI Driving Under the Influence First Offenses in Los Angeles
Jail time: 96 hours to six months
Fine: $390 to $1000
Payment of penalty assessment equaling three times the amount of the fine
Drivers license suspension, typically for six months
Required completion of a DUI program (for as long as nine months)
Possible order to install an ‘Ignition Interlock Device’ (IID)
California SR22 (proof of financial responsibility) Insurance requirement for restricted license
Gotta love Google. You should try it some time. Even if what you posted was the 1st offense law, I doubt it would be applied often enough to have effect.

Cl4tgp October 31, 2013 at 9:45 pm

I truly hope that someday you run across a cop with an inferiority complex and they ram your face into a nice solid object.

I pray that you haven’t bred, because if your inferior genes get passed along, that is a graver risk to society than anybody drinking and driving.

Your comment is the embodiment of jackass, among other things.

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:06 pm

You pray? Wow, great Christian attitude you have there. Since you seemed to miss it, I never said the cop did the right thing and I suggested that he should be disciplined. I also said she deserved this ONLY if she was guilty. But, I don’t expect an inbreed like you to get that.

Kevin Smith October 31, 2013 at 9:46 pm

When the cops arrested her, she was asleep in her car. She wasn’t driving at the time of her arrest. Sleeping while intoxicated?

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:11 pm

Depends, did she drive while drunk to the location she parked to sleep? I’ll say it again, she only deserved this if she is guilty of DUI. If she was sleeping in her car at the parking lot of the bar, then they should have let her be. But, if she left the bar and stopped somewhere to sleep, she needs a good beating. I’ll go one more, if anyone drive while intoxicated, they deserve a good beating. DUI punishment is not harsh enough. Anyone on their 2nd DUI should be tried for involuntary manslaughter.

Jeremy Arthur Vandelay November 2, 2013 at 2:15 am

You’re a fucking idiot. You deserve your face smashed.

Brad Kirby November 2, 2013 at 5:24 pm

After reading your reply below, you do realize this makes you a blatant hypocrite, right?

MATTMAN October 31, 2013 at 9:46 pm

@Brad, I hope your mother or sister never gets accused of a crime in that town then be treated like the girl who had her face broken

Brad Kirby October 31, 2013 at 10:09 pm

I hope you learn to comprehend what you read. Try again.

Jeremy Arthur Vandelay November 2, 2013 at 2:13 am

Wow that is such a great point!! First of all, what was she convicted of?
Oh, nothing? Wow that’s interesting.

Such a great system you want to set up. You get arrested and the police can smash your face! No trial! No right to an attorney or any kind of defense- let’s just instill face smashing justice done by the officers. Forget juries!

Is there a brain rolling around in that empty head of yours Kirby?? People like you make defending the first amendment extremely difficult.

Brad Kirby November 2, 2013 at 5:23 pm

And still the idiots don’t read or comprehend what is written. I never said she was guilty, I never said the officer should have done that, and I DID say she deserved this ONLY (pay attention to this part) ONLY if she were guilty. Try again.

MATTMAN October 31, 2013 at 9:31 pm

Throw the lawyer in jail with the dirty cop, crooked bastards !!!

Cl4tgp October 31, 2013 at 9:49 pm

I’m hoping that Karma comes along and that cop gets a celly in jail that throws him into a wall or two. Fair is fair.

rainbowdash October 31, 2013 at 9:31 pm

yes he was wrong to push her with excessive force.
yes she was wrong to be drinking and driving. I’m irritated the people on her side make it
sound like officer Hart beat her to a pulp. That wasn’t the case, he
pushed her one time.
that was it. he even brought her gobs of tissue.
AND, none of these people are taking into consideration that alcohol
thins the blood. I feel bad for her getting hurt, I do. However I would still like to hear that she gets charged for the DUI.

Cl4tgp October 31, 2013 at 9:48 pm

That wasn’t a little push. Yes she should still face the consequences for her actions, but so should that cop. There was NO REASON for him to essentially throw her tiny body that way.

Krystal November 1, 2013 at 4:01 am

It appeared as though she held onto the doorframe when she was walked back to her cell. Not saying what he did was right, just that it appeared he did have a reason.

Dustin November 1, 2013 at 12:11 am

I don’t think anyone is disagreeing that she should still be punished for her crime, but this officer should be punished for HIS crime as well.

Jeremy Arthur Vandelay November 2, 2013 at 2:16 am

wow, great point! Did alcohol also thin the BONES IN HER FACE that were shattered?

But hey, he brought her tissues! He was soooo sorry! That’s enough, right?

Jesus Christ, for years I wondered how Bush got elected a second time. How could our country be so stupid?? Comments like yours routinely remind me of the answer.

JW Mack October 31, 2013 at 10:05 pm

This 19 years veteran cop with an unblemished
record should spend 19 years in prison and have to pay her the rest of
his miserable life! Dirty little bastard piece of slime!

Dustin November 1, 2013 at 12:10 am

He’s probably so unblemished because this is the first time he’s ever been caught on camera being such a prick, and we all know that when citizens take cops to court, criminals complaining of brutality especially, the cop automatically wins if there is no video proof.

Anna Wolf November 1, 2013 at 1:27 pm

Jed Stone’s comments are disgusting. I hope justice is done, and seen to be done.

Richard Tennyson November 1, 2013 at 2:33 pm

This guy is a coward and should be fired from the department. As a former LEO, I arrested plenty of intoxicated people and they do not deserve this type of brutality.

Jeremy Arthur Vandelay November 2, 2013 at 2:11 am

Jesus Christ, really??

“Hart’s attorney Jed Stone has pointed to the fact that
the officer has never been disciplined and has never been the subject of
an excessive force complaint. The officer’s lawyer reminded the public
that Feuerstein was being incarcerated for a DUI. “Put that against the
backdrop of a 19-year career police officer with an unblemished record,
and explain to me why he’s being prosecuted,” Stone said.”

Are you kidding me?? He’s being prosecuted because he broke the girls flippin’ face!! So what is this, if you have a clean record as a cop it gives you license to physically abuse and assault those that are arrested for dui??

Lawyers like this guy need to get their ass kicked. Bad.

Guest November 3, 2013 at 8:08 pm

Wow…there was no need for that. Even if he has 18 years of an “unblemished” record, he had to snapped, that was abuse.

jetuh November 9, 2013 at 8:39 am

Really Jed Stone, you believe your own bullshit? It is dirty, crooked, stinking greedy politicians and lawyers such as yourself that will one day bring down this country to it’s knees and it will hold the likes of you accountable….it’s only a matter of time
