Judge Napolitano Thinks He May Have ‘Jumped The Gun’ With Comey Accusations

Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano admitting to “jumping the gun” about whether or not former FBI Director James Comey broke the law when he leaked material to a Columbia University professor.

“[Comey] has a very narrow definition of leak, but not all leaks are criminal,” Napolitano said. “That’s what [Comey] was talking about. If it’s not classified. It’s not criminal. At the time this occurred, by this I mean professor Richman reading to selected members of the media, selected non-classified portions of one of the memos, Jim Comey was a private citizen. So he could.”

Napolitano accused Comey of breaking FBI protocol and possibly lying under oath Monday on “Fox & Friends” and suggested he may have broken the law.

“I jumped the gun here the other day,” Napolitano added. “Not knowing that Professor Richman had a security clearance. And one of you, I think, said to me did Jim Comey break the law? And I said it appears he did. I’ve since then apologized. It now appears did he not.”

“We didn’t know about the professor having the clearance, which is why as a judge, I ought to have known, you’ve got to get all the facts before you form a judgment,” he concluded.
