“Americans want the government funded but they don’t want Obamacare.”
Representative John Boehner (R-OH) took to the podium to declare that there would be no vote in the House to fund the President’s healthcare bill without an agreement to a 1-year delay. President Barack Obama has reportedly balked at negotiations according to Speaker Boehner.
Speaker Boehner is now shifting strategy in the fight against Obamacare. He told reporters Thursday “that ties important spending cuts and pro growth reforms to a debt limit increase.” Boehner wants the president to push Obamacare off for a year while they address issues such as the Keystone XL pipeline, parts of the Dodd-Frank Act and others.
