Jennifer Lawrence to Girls: “Stop Calling Each Other Fat” (VIDEO)

Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence appeared in an interview recently and was asked a question about body image. A man in the audience reads the question from his daughter to Lawrence in front of a crowd discussing her new movie. The star has made a reputation for her earnest personality and charming demeanor.

In the interview she says about how to deal with body image: “You have to look past it. You look how you look. And be comfortable. What are you gonna do, be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That’s just dumb.”

Speaking of popular culture, Lawrence criticized shows like The Fashion Police saying, “They put values on all the things that are wrong. And that it’s ok to just point at people and call them ugly and call them fat. And they call it fun and like, welcome to the real world. And it’s like… that shouldn’t be the real world. It’s going to keep being the real world if we keep it that way. It’s not until we stop treating each other like that and just stop calling each other fat.”

Lawrence’s latest film is the continuation of the Hunger Games series called Catching Fire, and is out in theatres today.
