ICE Arrests 21 Savage For Overstaying Visa, Could Be Deported

Grammy nominated rapper 21 Savage has been arrested by ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) for being in the US illegally. 21 savage, real name Shayaabin Abraham-Joseph, is actually a resident of the United Kingdom, according to ICE spokesperson Bryan Cox.

According to the agency, Abraham-Joseph entered the United States illegally in 2005 as a minor, and failed to leave the country under the terms of his nonimmigrant visa.

“Mr. Abraham-Joseph is presently in ICE custody in Georgia and has been placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts,” ICE said in a statement. “ICE will now await the outcome of his case before a federal immigration judge to determine future actions.”

21 Savage has long been associated with Atlanta, Georgia, so fans were surprised to where the rapper is actually from. He is featured on Post Malone’s mega-hit song, “Rockstar,” helping him earn two Grammy nominations.
