History Tells Us That We Need To Watch The Watchers

Several major Hollywood celebrities put together a public service video to educate and inform citizens about the need to rein in mass surveillance by the U.S. Government. Top names such as Will Wheaton, Maggie Gyllenhall, Oliver Stone, John Cusack and others team up with Daniel Ellsberg to put a stop to the invasion of our privacy.

The video is calling for a day of mass action on October 26th, a rally in Washington D.C. that’s called “Stop Watching Us”. More than 100 public interest groups have gotten behind the project and are demanding that congress investigate the NSA’s spy programs.


Austin Petersen is a homegrown Missourian with a lifelong passion for liberty. My only issue is, they used Nixon’s face so often, where is Obama’s face? Isn’t he our president allowing this to occur right now?

I think they are just using that image to reiterate that maybe the past could be repeating itself and we shouldn’t let that happen.

Maybe they will do an update on it, but I can understand why they are emphasizing Watergate. They are very correct in that it was stopped then and it should be stopped now. However there aren’t enough votes in the Senate to make that happen–until next year.

HAHA! You think after the whole government shutdown thing that the Republicans are going to gain in the Senate? You clearly have no idea how the majority of Americans feel about the stunt the Tea Party just pulled. If the house members weren’t safe in extremely gerrymandered districts, they would be out on their keesters as well. The senate has no such protections and the Repubs there are going to be paying the price.

Not all of them voted him in, but there were a lot of citizens who voted him in who now wish they hadn’t. As long as they see that they were being used and are now being abandoned, we shouldn’t be damning them–we should support them. James Woods is also calling the US government out over Benghazi and he’s stated repeatedly that he does not care if he ever gets another film offer again because what they did got Americans killed and they must be held to the fire for it.

There was another report some time back that stated that many Hollywood celebrities are turning their backs on the Obama camp and even the Dem Party over the direction it has gone in. I wish someone could re-post that one! It was also on FB.
