Groom Fails Bride’s Math Test So She Ditched Him At The Wedding

A bride in India abandoned her would-be groom at the wedding after he failed a simple math test. The woman asked her suitor what was 15+6. His reply?

Seventeen.

The incident occurred in Rasoolabad village near Kanpur. The groom’s family tried to get the woman to return, but she refused, saying the groom had lied to her about his level of education.

“The groom’s family kept us in the dark about his poor education,” said  the bride’s father, Mohar Singh. “Even a first grader can answer this.”

Police in the village sorted out all of the gifts and jewelry that had been exchanged between the two families. Marriages in India are usually organized by the families of the grooms and brides. Couples do not usually meet one another before they marry.
