Grandson of Russian Spy Announces Run for Libertarian Party Chair

By Harry C

Max Dickstein, grandson of Russian spy Samuel Dickstein, has announced that he will be running for Chairman of the Libertarian Party.

On his website, thegrandinquirer.com, Dickstein writes, “I hereby declare that I will be running for chair of the National Libertarian Party. The LP is a part of the establishment, and I intend to infiltrate it, reform it, and break it if it must be done.”

Max is the CEO of Samuel Dickstein & Sons and states in The Grand Inquirer Mission Statement, “Now under the control of Samuel Dickstein & Sons, the Grand Inquirer (GI) was founded on July 16, 2014 under the name, AMTHIRDPARTYREPORT. Rebranded as ‘The Grand Inquirer,’ we chose to redefine both our ambition and objectives. To paraphrase Hunter S. Thompson, I want to make a promise to you, the reader. We put the bastards of this world on notice ; we do not have your best interests at heart. And our voice will be one of INK…and RAGE.”

During the height of the Cold War, a Wisconsin Senator by the name of Joseph McCarthy took on the daunting task of blacklisting communists in the United States government. Although many in Washington wound up being blacklisted by McCarthy, a Congressman from New York City, named Samuel Dickstein, fell under his radar, and took many more years to discover that he was a spy for Joseph Stalin’s Soviet Union.

According to the Boston Globe, “Dickstein ran a lucrative trade in illegal visas for Soviet operatives before brashly offering to spy for the NKVD, the KGB’s precursor, in return for cash.” Dickstein was “for many years, a ‘devoted and reliable’ Soviet agent whom his handlers nicknamed ‘Crook'”.

A 2014 article in Politico states that, “Dickstein is the only known U.S. representative to have served as a covert agent for a foreign power.” In his book The Haunted Wood: Soviet Espionage in America, Allen Weinstein writes that Dickstein was paid $1,250 a month (equivalent to $20,600 in 2015) from 1937 to 1940 by the NKVD, the predecessor of the KGB.

Max is also a fan of Donald Trump, and declared in his announcement for LP Chair, “Darth Trump….I Will Finish….What You Started.”
