“This is a pop quiz with guns…”
WINTER HAVEN, FL – Government agents wearing blue costumes and calling themselves “police” terrified middle schoolers when they burst into Jewett Middle Academy with their guns drawn for an unannounced drill. Students, parents and teachers at the middle school were not told that the government would be drilling fear into the children in advance.
Like students and teachers, parents were also not informed of the drill in advance, which has left many outraged, including Charise Tate, who joined “Fox and Friends Weekend” this morning with her son Xavier to discuss the extremely scary situation.
Xavier explained that around 8 or 9 a.m., the principal came over the intercom and said the school is going on “hard lockdown.”
He said that 20 or 30 minutes later, they heard something by the door and were terrified to see the door open and gun barrel stick through.
“We didn’t know it was a drill,” the eighth-grader explained. “We thought it was a gunman right through that door.”
After “clearing” the classroom, officers moved on to the next, Xavier said, adding that around 40 minutes later they got the “OK” after police had checked every room.
“It was very scary.”
