Fencing Coach Foils Robbery with Rapier! (VIDEO)

“I do not cling to life sufficiently to fear death.”

― Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers

NASHVILLE, TN – Franco Scaramuzza had just finished coaching a fencing class when, still wearing his breeches and carrying his sword, he spotted a robbery in progress. Two ne’er-do-wells were pepper spraying and looting a lady in the parking lot. Scaramuzza wasn’t about to let the dastardly knaves get away with pepper spraying and robbing innocents while he had breath in his body.

Nay! This renaissance fighter leapt from his car and dashed towards the errant knaves, holding his rapier to sky and shouting at the top of his voice. Terrified, the brigands retreated. Scaramuzza told WSMV, “Fencing, you can do it without the weapon. It happens in your mind, and that’s how you try to make the right choices…You have to make decisions in a very quick amount of time.”

The corsairs were later identified and captured by the constabulary. Zachary Johnson and Michael Butt were being held in the local clink for a whopping $50,000 sovereigns! That will teach them next time to mess with the swashbuckling hero of Nashville! Good form, Signor Scaramuzza! Good form!
