Falsely Accused Prisoner Freed After Decade Behind Bars (VIDEO)

COLUMBIA, MO – Ryan Ferguson was recently released from prison after it was determined that he was falsely accused of murder and spent a decade behind bars. In an interview with CNN, Ferguson describes his ordeal in fighting to prove his innocence while he was in prison. Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced Tuesday that his office will not retry Ferguson, 29.

Ferguson was put behind bars due to the testimony of a fellow classmate, Chuck Erickson who was imprisoned as well. Erickson claimed that Ferguson committed a murder in 2001, but later recanted. Forensic evidence at the scene also did not prove that Ferguson was involved.

“They’ve taken my 20’s, and I can’t get that back,” he said.
