Drones Being Used To Hunt Feral Pigs (VIDEO)

Louisiana-Hog-ControlFarmers in the Deep South are using observational drones to bring death to their enemy… the abominable feral pig!

Wild pigs are a $1.5 billion dollar a year problem for farmers who have to deal with the devastation that they cause to their crops and wildlife. But a new extermination company run by engineers Cy Brown and James Palmer aim to fix that by using model airplanes outfitted with thermal imaging and sending them into the killing fields of Louisiana.

Louisiana Hog Control is a business set up to combine the two men’s passion for pork, hunting and model airplanes. They’ve taken out around 300 pigs in the last six months alone using radio controlled drones that help spot wild bacon.

The FAA has regulations against commercial aircraft being used by private citizens so Palmer and Brown cannot legally charge people for flying the drones. They can accept tips however, and tips run about $25 per pig. The pigs are usually taken for food.
