A man led police on a car chase Thursday in Iowa because he wanted to tick the ride off his bucket list

Frederick Ray Jones, 46, refused to pull over for a trooper on a highway, leading to a car chase over expired registration on the vehicle, KCCI 8 News reported. The car chase started at 7:30 a.m. and lasted 10-15 minutes, added the New York Post.

Jones led police into the state capital Des Moines, leading more troopers to join the car chase. Jones finally pulled over by an elementary school and troopers found nothing in the vehicle.

“In my 28 years, I’ve never heard that excuse,” said Sgt. Scott Bright. Troopers added that the driver’s license and car Jones used was not his.

Authorities took Jones to the Polk County Jail and charged the man with an OWI first offense, eluding, interference with official acts, operation without registration and unlawful use of a license, speeding and a parole violation.
