Don’t Tread On This Enormous Squeaking Porcupine! (VIDEO)

Don’t tread on Kemosabe!

Libertarians have adopted the porcupine in recent years as a sort of unofficial mascot. Many liberty-related brands like The Skeptical Libertarian and Free State Project have taken the animal and made it their logo, in honor of its “Don’t Tread On Me” spirit.

The old logo with the snake was seen as too aggressive. A porcupine is just a wonderful animal who never goes looking for trouble. But boy, if you dare step on one, you’re going to regret it.

In these bitter partisan times, this little buddy here should do wonders to curb your hostility no matter what your politics. Meet Kemosabe!

“[America] goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.” -John Quincy Adams

Too stinking cute….and just like libertarians, feed us some banana slices and we will make adorable noises.

That sound is terrifying in the dark woods if you don’t know what it is. Some people think the porcupine’s human-like cry is one of the sources of the Sasquatch legend.

Fascinating. The freaky critters I’ve heard have been coyotes. Damn things sound like a crying baby sometimes, though they usually do the familiar yipping-yapping-howl Guess we don’t have many porcs down here, at least so close to town
