Donald Trump Signs Creepy GOP Loyalty Pledge

I had to laugh when I heard that the Republican National Committee pressures all candidates to sign a loyalty pledge. The pledge states:

“I, ________, affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for President of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.”

Wow. How insecure are they?

Donald Trump, originally, said that he could not promise to support the GOP nominee. While I’m not a Trump supporter by any means, I had to give him credit for that one.  Why would anyone promise to support a candidate before you even know who it is? I get that’s about political leverage. It just seems lame to me, though. I’d rather pledge to endorse the candidate that best represents my ideas and what not. What if the Republican candidate stinks?

Well, today, Trump signed the loyalty pledge. I’m wondering about what his supporters will think since Trump is supposed to be all independent. He just signed off his loyalty to the Republican Party, regardless of what happens. Tsk tsk.

Anyways, the pledge reminded of the Overly Attached Girlfriend meme. And here you go:
