Dating App To Use Trump Immigration Order To Set Up Matches

By Eric Lieberman

A popular mobile dating app will start to ask political questions as part of its matchmaking criteria in March.

OKCupid, a social networking website, is expected to rollout a new redesign in March that will include 50 potentially provocative questions, like how a user feels about Trump’s immigration ban.

The app was founded in 2004, but is set to launch the redesign in March, according to TechCrunch. The app was updated Monday, according to Apple’s official App Store.

Other anticipated questions include “Is climate change real?” with responses “Yes,” “No,” and “I’m not really sure.” Another prospective question used to measure and analyze a person as a would-be date is simply “Trump?” according to TechCrunch. Possible answers for that one-word question are “Hell no!” “No,” “Yes,” and “Hell yes!” There is also a slot to decide how important such a question is to a user, which will presumably factor into the love-kindling algorithm.

The goal seems to be to match people who share their values, specifically political ones. While people can bond over their likemindedness, such a feature could keep people in their “bubble” or, in other words, maintain a linear way of thinking.

The app revamp will also include new animation and graphics for the categories, including the questions and profiles.
