Peeping Police Pushing Sex Stings

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Charles Couch is suing the the city of Manhattan Beach after an incident occurred where he was tackled, choked and arrested for helping a disabled boy using the restroom. Police reportedly released his name and photograph, making him a target before he could be convicted on any charge. Couch believes his civil rights were violated and is suing for $5 million.

Couch is a caregiver for a special needs child that was known for taking a long time to use the bathroom. When the boy went to use the stall, an undercover officer entered the toilet next to him. Soon after, the boy bolted from the bathroom, claiming that the man was peeping at him.

When Couch turned to leave, the officer followed him saying, “Why are you leaving so quickly?” Then suddenly Couch was surrounded by five plain clothes police officers who he believed were thugs. He grabbed the child to protect him which caused the officers to tackle him and choke him to the ground before arresting him.

The child’s family vouched for him in order to secure his release and the charges were later dropped due to “insufficient evidence.” His case is pending before the courts.
