Cop On Paid Leave After Boot Stomping A Man’s Head

SACRAMENTO, CA – A Sacramento police officer is on leave after video emerged of him stomping his boot into a man’s head and then pounding him with his flashlight. “America help me!” the man cries, saying “this officer is abusing me in public.”

The man who recorded the incident claims that John Reyes was not resisting arrest and there was no reason for such violence. Undersheriff Jamie Lewis speaking about the incident said “Let’s face it, had the subject complied with the officer’s directives from the initial contact and beyond, we wouldn’t be sitting here talking about this today,” Lewis said.

“How can I roll over when my body’s twitching with 100,000 volts going through it,” Reyes said.

The man who shot the video, Michael White, thinks the officer went too far. “The cop was walking around him, and he tased him several times, and you could see the guy’s body convulse about three or four times,” White said. “And he’s not yelling or anything. He was not trying to get away.”

“I think [the officer] should get fired,” White said. “I think he should go to jail. I don’t think administrative leave is enough.”

Reyes was charged with resisting arrest.
