A Georgia cop claimed that “Black Lives Matter” was written on his Krispy Kreme order of doughnuts earlier this week.

Now, the Smyrna Police Department has launched an investigation into the matter, reports Fox News.

Blue Lives Matter, a pro-police blog, posted a photo of the alleged incident on their blog. An officer stopped by a local Kripsy Kreme Wednesday to pick up some doughnuts, the blog maintained. When he received his order, the phrase “Black Lives Matter” was allegedly written on it.

“For those who are not aware, this is extremely disrespectful to law enforcement,” Blue Lives Matter wrote. They allege that a former Smyrna Police Department employee gave them the photo.

“Immediately after the incident, the Smyrna Police Department met with store management and made them aware of the incident,” Smyrna Police Department spokesperson Louis Defense declared.

Sarah Roof, a spokesperson for Krispy Kreme, said that employees would take part in special training to “reinforce mutual respect” with employees and the customers they serve.

“As a company, we value every customer and are committed to upholding our brand standards and delivering a superior customer experience. We have opened an investigation into the matter and will take whatever steps necessary to ensure the values of our company are upheld,” the company’s statement said.

The police department, who is still looking into the matter, applauded the company for its quick response and apology.

“While it is clear this behavior was egregious in nature, Krispy Kreme did take responsibility for the incident,” Smyrna police announced.
