To serve and… forget?
It took about 90 minutes for Hillsborough county sheriff’s Detective Luke Hussey to figure out he was missing his Glock after he left his loaded weapon in a movie theater bathroom. A 9-year-old boy found the handgun and reported it to his dad who then reported it to the police. When Hussey attempted to retrieve the weapon, he was told he’d have to take it up with his fellow detectives.
“It’s obviously a serious mistake,” said sheriff’s spokesman Larry McKinnon. “We’re glad no one was hurt, that the gun didn’t end up in the wrong hands.”
