A British columnist has been reported to the authorities after she called for a “final solution” in light of the Manchester bombing Monday night.
Katie Hopkins, a Mail Online columnist, used Nazi terminology to call for an end to terror attacks, reports the Independent.
“22 dead – number rising. Schofield. Don’t you even dare. Do not be part of the problem. We need a final solution. #Manchester,” Hopkins’ now-deleted tweet read. Hopkins ended up re-tweeting the same tweet with “we need a true solution.”
People were still outraged over the tweet, with some calling for her to be fired from her position. The Metropolitan police received an official complaint about her tweet, but could not verify whether or not they had started an investigation into it.
Another columnist with the Telegraph, Allison Pearson, called for “internment” for all terrorist suspects in order to protect children.
“We need a State of Emergency as France has. We need internment of thousands of terror suspects now to protect our children. #Manchester,” Pearson said in a tweet.
