CNN Report: CIA Trained Afghans to use bombs similar to ones in Boston

Piers Morgan hosted a panel last night with Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a left-wing hate group that attempts to subvert constitutional and civil rights to free speech and the right to bear arms. Morgan immediately tried to get his guest to infer that the attack might have been a result of white supremacists, invoking Timothy McVeigh and comparing the actions of terrorists to the actions of the founding fathers of the American republic. Potok was hesitant to point the accusation at domestic terrorists, but gave Morgan enough bait on the topic to keep his liberal audience happy.

Ronald Reagan meeting with Mujahideen to encourage their insurgency against the Soviets in 1985

Bob Baer, a former CIA agent and CNN contributor offered his opinion that the types of bombs used were similar to the types of devices that CIA agents instructed Afghan forces how to use. At the moment there is no revealed evidence that might link these attacks either to white supremacists or Afghani terrorists. Baer opined that due to the fact that Al-Qaeda has not claimed credit that it likely must be domestic terrorism.

If it sounds like wishful thinking, it is. Salon published an article yesterday titled “Let’s hope the Boston marathon bomber is a white american” which argues that the privilege afforded to whites who commit crimes makes for a more measured response than if it was a foreign act of terrorism. Social democrats today have a philosophy of never letting a crisis go to waste. They must be salivating at the opportunity to paint white Americans as domestic terrorists so as to bolster their arguments for gun control and crackdowns on civil liberties which would affect ALL Americans. Still, the facts from the case are inconclusive and the type of bomb used does bear a very similar resemblence to the types of weapons that CIA agents trained Mujahideen fighters to use against Soviets in the 1980’s. Time will tell who is responsible, but for now all we can do is watch the inflammatory speculation continue as both sides of the political spectrum try and pin the blame on their favorite bogeyman before the facts are revealed.
