Clinton Responds: Demands More Details From FBI ‘Immediately’

by Rachel Stoltzfoos

Hillary Clinton’s campaign responded to the news the FBI is reopening an investigation into her private email server by issuing a statement demanding more details “immediately.”

“FBI Director Comey should immediately provide the American public more information than is contained in the letter he sent to eight Republican committee chairman,” campaign manager John Podesta said in the statement. He adds: “Director Comey’s letter refers to emails that have come to light in an unrelated case, but we have no idea what those emails are and the Director himself notes they may not even be significant.”

Comey sent a letter to Congress Friday announcing the FBI had discovered new emails “pertinent” to the previously completed investigation into Clinton’s private email server. The news stunned the Clinton campaign, breaking while she and some of her staff were flying to a campaign event in Iowa.

Clinton brushed off initial questions shouted by the press corps when she got off the plane, and ignored the news in her address at the rally. The campaign reportedly did not have access to wifi during the flight.
